Class Sessions & InformationClasses are continuous and run on a month-to-month schedule. Students may enroll at any time pending class availability. Classes run Mon-Fri. All classes are co-ed. However, we do offer a boys-only Gymnastics class that covers men’s events. Holidays and breaks are included in the tuition structure (see news & announcements) All classes are inclusive. Tuition Structure & Class MakeupTuition is due upon initial enrollment. Rates reflective of military community discount. Enrollment is perpetual with the receipt of the monthly payment. Sibling Discount $10 off. Single Student Multi-Class Discount 20% Tuition is billed on or about the 13th of the month and due on the 25th for the upcoming month to continue priority enrollment Scheduled holiday breaks/gym closings are accounted for in the tuition rate. Tuition is not prorated for missed classes. If classes are canceled by ASA for unforeseen circumstances, make-ups will be scheduled on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. If your child must miss a class, we will work to find a suitable make-up, space permitting for up to 1 class per month. Your child must remain enrolled to participate in a make-up class. You have three months from the date of absence to schedule and attend a make-up.

How do I register?Registration is done online: www.americanspiritathletics.com Create a parent account online. Autopay is available for your convenience and is highly encouraged. Autopay is run on the 25th of the month. Upon payment, you have the option to securely store your credit card in the system for Auto Pay.

What if I want to drop or change a class or be put on a waitlist?The parent portal is the most efficient to initiate a drop. However, we are here to help if you need assistance. Contact us at vipsupport@americanspiritatheltics.com Drop Notify us through the parent portal by selecting a drop request. No refunds or credits for dropping a class mid-month. For special medical situations (with a written doctor's note,) contact us. Transfer/change a class Request transfer through the parent portal. Class Trial-new class students only. Select “trial” through the parent portal. Once the trial is approved you will receive an email confirmation. Upon completion of the trial, you will have 24 hours to notify the office at vipsupport@americanspiritathletics.com if you wish to actively enroll. After 24 hours the spot opens up. Lists are monitored for openings or new class openings. Waitlist option Select a class and elect "waitlist" through the parent portal

How do I submit a future absence?Log into your parent portal account, and click MY ACCOUNT link in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Click the FUTURE ABSENCES icon under the student you wish to record a future absence. This launches the wizard and will prompt you through date selection. May leave a confidential note. This alerts the coaches in the attendance app.

How are classes typically run?All classes begin with dynamic warm-ups and stretching. Students will learn various positions/events/ that are the building blocks of each sport/performing art. Safe, fun progressions are used.

What is the student to instructor ratio?Each class/discipline is designed for maximum individual attention and class safety. Each class's size is also dependent on the age, maturity, and skills of the students and the genre/curriculum Classes typically maintain a preschool 6:1 ratio, youth classes: 8:1, teen 9:1 Dance classes may vary Cheer & dance based on the squad size average of 10:1 ratio

Can parents stay and watch or coming into gym/studio?Unless your child is in a parent/guardian participation class, our insurance mandates that parents are not allowed in the gym/studio training areas during classes. Lobby areas are used in all locations and are currently open. Current COVID Guidelines-could mandate that parents/guardians are not allowed in the buildings. Gym/studio doors will remain open when windows are not available

Student Pick upPrompt pick-up is required. Students are not permitted to wait outside alone. Walking home is not encouraged. Staff will not release young students to walk home. You must come up to the doors for the coach to see you pick up students.

What is the proper practice attire for each class?Proper attire for each discipline is for safety. No jewelry, no street clothes, buttons, or zippers. Hair that obstructs vision/long hair must be secured back in a pony, braid, or bun. Be mindful of hair jewelry as it can become a safety hazard. Gymnastics: Girls: Leotard (no tights,) or fitted shirt/tank (w/sport bra recommended,) shorts. Boys: Fitted shirt/tank, shorts. Cheer: Fitted shirt/tank (w/sport bra recommended for girls,) shorts. No yoga pants. Cheer shoes Dance Preschool Creative Movement: Girls: Leotard or fitted shirt/tank, shorts. Pink canvas/leather ballet shoes. May wear ballet tights or thin white ankle socks. Boys: Fitted white t-shirt, black athletic pants or shorts, black canvas/leather ballet shoes, thin white ankle socks. Dance Ballet (ages 5-7) Girls’ Dress Code: Pink leotard, ballet pink footed or conversion tights, pink ballet slippers. Dancers have the option to wear any color tutu/flowy skirt if they wish. Boys: Boys’ Dress Code: White T-Shirt, black leggings, black ballet slippers. Long hair up in a slicked-back ballet bun. Short hair must be secured away from the face. Dance Teams (ages 8+) Girls-Leotard of choice with pink tights and or black jazz pants or black leggings. Pink ballet slippers or black jazz shoes. Boys T-shirt of choice with black athletic pants. Black jazz shoes. Hair up in a bun or ponytail. Short hair must be secured away from the face. Ninja Kidz™ Official Ninja Kidz™ uniform (Ninja T-shirt, Ninja wristband, black shorts/athletic or yoga pants.) Is additional performance attire required? Cheerleading Yes. What are the guidelines for classes?Please be on time. Warmups are paramount for safety and development. Regular attendance is important. Repetition and consistency are key to building skills. Students are not allowed on any equipment before or after class. No food or gum is permitted in training areas. What do I do on the first day of class?Coaches will meet students at the entrance and guide students to an area where they can place their personal belongings. Students will be introduced. Have fun!

Progress TrackingYour child’s progress is continually tracked. Class skills charts and progress are viewable on the parent portal.

How can my child prepare at home?We discourage any flipping (head-over-heel rotation) at home! Home trampolines and equipment do NOT provide the same safety training as in the gym. Strength, conditioning, endurance, and flexibility are key foundations of any discipline. Students should be supervised by an educated adult/parent.

COVID-19 SAFETY & Important InformationOn January 20th, 2023, The Biden Administration announced its intent to end the national emergency and public health emergency declarations on May 11, 2023, related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Note: if a child displays symptoms of illness and coughing is present, a mask will be given to avoid spreading the illness to others. Please refrain from bringing students to class when they are ill. Please refer to our full PowerPoint safety presentation at www.americanspiritathletics.com. Information is subject to change as state, and local guidelines change. We will keep our presentation posted for information. Covid-19 Warning, It is our priority to provide a safe environment for all and to reduce the risk of illness. We have taken enhanced health and safety measures. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests/participants with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting/participating in classes at American Spirit Athletics, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Help keep each other healthy. Return to sports/performing arts-If your child has not been physically active, it may take a few weeks to get back into the swing of things. Training will focus on gradual safe progressions. Safety Protocols. We will follow all local, state, and USMC base guidelines. Subject to change. The State of California strongly recommends vaccinations. The CDC definition of fully immunized: CDC Fully Vaccinated. If planning to travel, please check and follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and any State travel advisories. Children should not share personal belongings. Personal items should be contained in a bag to avoid any potential cross-contamination. Indoor classes face masks are not mandatory for fully vaccinated individuals. No masks for students while participating. Cheerleading stunting will be performed outdoors until new guidelines/tier is posted. Pre-screening forms may be required prior to each class confirming child is showing no signs of illness and has not been in large crowds or traveling (local mandate.) Parent Access. Parents of toddler classes are the only parents permitted in the building unless an emergency arises. Parents should maintain social distancing. Parents of toddlers should remain nearby to assist toddlers to the restroom and to assure proper handwashing occurs. Doors will remain open but secure to maintain safety and provide ventilation. American Academy of Pediatrics: Guidance on Return to Sports has been used for additional guidelines.
