ABOUT US

In the Fall of 2016, coach Lisa Hemmie (USMC veteran) and her husband (USMC retired) temporarily relocated from Michigan to the beautiful desert oasis of Twentynine Palms. After several months the allure of the peaceful desert beauty and friendly community beckoned them to make it their home. She is now bringing her love of sports, arts, and working with kids to Twentynine Palms. Lisa Hemmie has been in the Industry for over 31 years as a cheerleading, dance  & gymnastics participant, recreational, sideline, and all-star cheer coach, tumbling coach, gym owner, international cheer and dance judge, and guest speaker. 

 

A little history.  In 2002 she founded Michigan Xtreme Cheer to provide the best quality and safest training to Michigan’s cheerleaders. Within 4 years the program grew to over 200 athletes and in 2006 MIX was proud to join the Varsity Brands Premier Athletics family and the program grew to include more programing and dance teams. Premier Athletics Michigan Xtreme benefited from Lisa’s leadership over the years. She has been recognized multiple times as a “Who’s Who in Coaching” by American Cheerleader and the program has received numerous awards, National Championships, All Star Cheer and Dance World Bids, and been featured as a Top 25 Program in American Cheerleader Magazine. The gym was voted “Best Cheer & Gymnastics” in the 2015 WDIV “Best of Detroit” competition. For the last several years she has served on the The Cheerleading Worlds™ judges panel.
